Simple Past Tense: Cara Menyatakan Kalimat Lampau dalam Bahasa Inggris

Sobat, tahukah kamu bahwa semua kisah di masa lalu itu diceritakan dengan menggunakan simple past tense? Yap, Simple Past Tenses digunakan untuk mengungkapkan suatu tindakan atau kejadian yang terjadi di masa lalu. Jadi, kejadian yang diceritakan dimulai dan berakhir di masa lalu. Sudah paham 'kan? Nah, sekarang mari kita pelajari struktur dari kalimat simple past tense. Namun sebelum itu, coba lihat contoh kalimat di bawah ini terlebih dahulu ya.

Verbal Sentence
  1. Kalimat positif untuk regular verb
Rumus: subject + verb + -ed
Contoh: She finished her work at 9 o’clock

  1. Kalimat positif untuk irregular verb
Rumus: subject + verb 2
Contoh: We gave her a beautiful birthday cake for her party

  1. Kalimat negatif untuk regular verb
Rumus: subject + did + not + infinitive without to
Contoh: She did not finish her work at 9 o’clock

Rumus: subject + did + not + infinitive without to

Rumus: Did + subject + infinitive without to

Catatan: Was digunakan untuk Subject I, She, He, dan It. Sedangkan Were digunakan untuk You, We, They, dan Plural Subject.
